When school is out and you have more time off work, you want to make sure you keep busy. While most everyone looks forward to summer throughout the year, many find themselves without anything to do once it arrives.
However, if you live in Bellevue, you won’t have to worry about ever having a dull moment. When the weather gets warmer there is so much to see and do.
Here are some of our favorites.
Bellevue Arts Festival Weekend
In late July, downtown Bellevue is the place to be if you love the arts. Over 300,000 people stop by every year to enjoy the crafts of local artists. Be sure to attend if you want to protect the arts in your city.
U-Pick Blueberry Farms
There’s nothing more delicious than a basket of freshly picked, ripe blueberries. Instead of stopping by the grocery store, consider picking some yourself.
Mercer Slough, Larsen Lake, and Lake Hills blueberry farms all let visitors pick their own juicy berries.
Bellevue July 4th Fireworks
An extravagant fireworks show is a city tradition for Independence Day in Bellevue. Join 60,000 other residents for an evening of music, food, and celebration.
Fireworks begin at sundown and are sure to be a hit with your entire family.
Outdoor Movies in the Park
Why sit inside a dark movie theater when you can watch free movies all summer long? Bellevue residents are invited to attend showings of family-friendly movies during July and August.
Admission is free, and so is the popcorn! Screenings happen at Bellevue Downtown Park on Tuesdays.
Bellevue Live at Lunch
If you still have to work during the summer, you can at least enjoy some fun-filled entertainment during your lunch breaks. Stop by the downtown area to check out free live music during the lunch hour.
Venues change for each performance, so make sure you keep your eye on the calendar.
Blue Angels Show
Known for their thrilling air shows, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will put on a show for Bellevue residents the first weekend of August.
You’ll get to see both practices and performances. The group has a reputation for doing seemingly impossible aeronautics. If you have an aircraft enthusiast in your family, this is the show for you.
Bellevue Zip Tour
If you want to get an adrenaline rush this summer, then the Bellevue Zip Tour should be next on your list. During the zip-line tour, you’ll rush through a variety of local trees while enjoying breathtaking views of the Downtown skyline.
With a zip-line that is 80 feet off the ground, this tour is not for the faint of heart.
Enatai Beach Park
Those who want to spend their summer in the water should visit Enatai Beach Park. Visitors enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, and canoeing. Lifeguards remain on duty during the summer months, so you can feel safe while learning a new water sport.
Bellevue Fashion Week
When September rolls around, you’ll find all of the fashion connoisseurs spending time at Bellevue Fashion Week. Enjoy inspiring runway shows from many local designers.
Get to see what trends will be in style for the upcoming season.
Meydenbauer Bay Park
If you’re looking for a place to take every member of your family this summer, you can’t go wrong with Meydenbauer Bay Park. There really is something for everyone to do here.
The little ones can enjoy climbing the playground equipment or swimming by the beach. Those who want to be on the water can take a personal boat or canoe for a ride. Even sunbathing is popular on a lazy summer afternoon in Bellevue.
